As others have said go for the dob ..250 PX flextube easy to store easy to transport and biggest bang for your buck ..simples

I'm not a new member ..I used to be on here a few years ago but got fed up with cloudy skies and threw teddy out of cot and flogged everything lol....just thought I'd pop back and get the juices flowing again ..there might be a another scope in the pipeline now I've calmed down lol....anyways I hope your all well and getting clear skies

Briefly is the word... Terrible conditions last few days here in London. But just had it barlowed on the 12" dob pointed at Saturn. Colour and banding, shadows and gaps... Shame the clouds only gave me a few minutes of observing!
When you manage to put it through its paces you wont be disappointed....good choice and a excellent eyepiece

Exellent thread qualia so many people will benefit from this as stated in a earlier post it should be in a book

yes your right but managed to do its a bit fiddly but doable another way is popp it in eyepiece holder bypass the secondary so it shines on to a wall and turn the collimaterThe Baader laser collimator is not symmetrical - not so easy to make a jig for it, unfortunately.

put it on a jig and test on a wall about 15 feet away if the dot stays central its ok if it moves send it back thats what i did with mine luckily it was fine
