  1. It would just be an ir/uv cut filter for now then maybe a narrowband filter. No wheel
  2. Hoping I can get some help in this, I have a Askar 103 with the.8 reducer also using a asi533mc camera. I know the 533 takes 1.25” filters and I can put 2” filters in the reducer. What I am hoping someone can help with is it better to go with the filter on the camera as it is closer or use 2” filter in the reducer in case I get a different camera later on? Thank you in advance
  3. Thank you for all of the replies. I do not have a dslr body or compact to try unfortunately. I currently have the tc40 tripod, but will upgrade to a different one at some point, luckily when I purchased the mount the tripod was included for the same price.
  4. I do not have any DSO imaging experience yet. I am looking at getting an ASI533mc pro, getting the experience with that and then in a couple of years seeing if that keeps me happy or get a new scope. Just for the price of the Askar, I just had a thought of getting one and not using the C6.
  5. Need some advice, I already have a Celestron c6 Astro fi. I have purchased an AM3 to mount it on, already have the .63 reducer. Was also thinking of getting the Hyperstar as well. But here is where I need advice. I have now seen the Askar 103 and was wondering should I stick the the C6 as I already have it, I know most advice says it is difficult with astrophotography. Or do bite the bullet and go with the askar?
  6. Thank you for your replies, so. Many different options. Will prob go with the 533 as that is what I was planning to do in the first place before ZWO released the 585
  7. So, I am looking at buying my first camera for astrophotography, and I am trying decide between the asi533mc pro, or the new asi585mc pro. This will be used in a c6 with a reducer, I know the 533 has bigger pixels and a larger FOV. I would be getting the ASIAIR and I could do mosaics with the 585. The main reason for not being able to decide is the 585 is cheaper but a lot of forums are saying the 533 is a better camera. Also with the 585 ZWO says it can be used for planetary imaging as well. Has anyone any opinions on this?
  8. Yeah already have the reducer was also thinking an am3 for the mount, just so I can use it in alt az as well for visual
  9. It is the.standard focus knob, on the Astro fi when it is on the mount the knob is at the bottom, so it will move to the left when mounted on a eq mount. I know the c6 is not the best for DSO, but I have one and want to try
  10. Hi, I currently have a Celestron Astro fi 6 and looking to put it on a we mount. If I do this the focuser will be on the left hand side of the scope instead of the more traditional right, I will be adding a Zwo focus motor to this as well. Does it really matter which side the focuser is on? Also i will be adding a 50mm guide scope on to this as well, as there is no was of adding a top rail, would it be ok to add the guide scope to a shoe instead. Or would it be best to take the dovetail off as add a set of tube rings will new rails. Thank you for all answers that may be given
