Hi; I'm new to the forum and am really glad to be a part of it. There doesn't seem to be a lot of quality forums out there with sound advice on astronomical equipment and their use, so I'm really looking forward to participating and learning. Thanks!

I've got a Celestron CG3 mount coming, but it doesn't have the shaft or the two weights. It does have the orange collar for the shaft which I assume is 12mm. I'm not finding a lot of parts out there or much info, but I'm looking at two 2.2 lb counterweights. There's an 8" shaft on line which says it will fit a CG2. Is the CG3 shaft the same size (12mm), and does it screw on to the mount the same way? The CG2 doesn't have that orange collar that the CG3 does. I have a Celestron Mak 90 and a Meade Mak 127, both with dovetails. Thanks!
