Hi, I am also a newbie and was gifted a deluxe 80eq celestron telescope. I think i broke the same thing redbase did. Tried to reach out to celestron and was told that the unit i have is from china and their solution was to return the item and get a refund. Right. anyway, redbase, can you share where you got the replacement part? Will try that. thank you.
