Thats a lovely clean detailed Saturn image Geof. You have captured some excellent banding detail despite the dew on the corrector problem.

I've just finally finished processing what I think is my best saturn so far. The data was captured on august 30th with a Asi290mono on the same evening I used the Asi 462mc to capture the colour image which I have already posted.
I captured eleven 3minutes rgb runs then derotated in WJ. Stacked in as3 Processed in registax6 - cs6 - aa5
C11 xlt - Asi290mm - Baader Rgb Filters - Resolution .15pp

Thats a good image Craig. There is some very nice banding showing through. I hope it wasn't the curse of friday 13th when you damaged your scope as I had a mishap that put me out of action too.

Your patience as certainly paid of Geof by waiting for a decent seeing window. There is some beautiful banding showing through on the colour image and you have also managed to keep it clean and smooth.

That's a decent image Kostas depite the lousy conditions. My captures of jupiter went in the bin as I just couldn't get any data out of them.

That is a very good image Simon considering the awful conditions we endured last night. The cassini is definitely visible and it as a nice colour balance too.

Hi Neil. What a great example this animation has of this effect. So thanks for posting this. When Kostas first picked up on this I thought I had a artifact through over processing the data. So well done to you both for pointing this effect out to me.
Bye the way It's great to see you posting again 👍

Just noticed a slight blue cast on top of the globe while checking for any artifacts so tried to reduce it. I also increased saturation a touch more.
4 hours ago, Kon said:Very nice Saturn and excellent banding definition. Do you think that's a spoke at the left hand side?
Hi Kostas I've had a good look but not sure what you mean.

They are superb Kostas for such early captures Especially with the windy conditions. Very Well Done.

This image of Saturn was captured on the 30-8-24. I decided to swap camera's from the Asi290mm to the Asi462mc to make processing with winjupos a touch easier.
C11xlt - Asi462mc - Amplification .12pp - five 3minute runs derotated WinJupos.
