  1. There is a pic of the lens, looks a little dusty but as it hasn't been used for a while thats to be expected I suppose, although tbh I'm not sure what to look for.
  2. Hi Im looking for a scope to restart my hobby, ideally a nice big frac for planetary and some deep sky, budget is an issue and I have seen this on the dreaded Ebay- what do people think? Really need some advice here. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Helios-telescope-evostar-150-1200-including-the-tripod-never-been-used-/231700887532?hash=item35f272f7ec
  3. Hi guys, I am a keen astronomer getting back into the hobby. I have always owned either big dobs or Newtonians but found them uncomfortable to use after a while. My budget is around £500 tops and I'm considering either a nice big 5-6 inch refractor like a bresser 127-152, Meade a6- or a more portable Meade etx 125. I would like to use the scope for a variety of viewing, planetary is a must (even though the views won't be great for a while). Any advise....will the little etx really compete with these big scopes?? Thanks!

  5. Hi Guys, I am looking for a scope to restart my hobby after some time away. I ideally would like a refractor with 6'' and around 1000 focal length for decent planetary observation. My budget is £500 tops! I have seen a scope on the dreaded eBay (as a new comer I can't use the classified section on here) its a Helios 150/1200 on for £365, any thoughts?? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231693100568?euid=1666ea89e8c14d4aa9b04440a5d0e360&cp=1 The owner claims it has never been used, not sure as its an older scope. I don't know much about these. An help would be appreciated.

    Classifieds

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I need a scope to get back into the hobby but really don't want to have to get something off Ebay, I can't afford to go new for what I'm looking for (6 inch/ 1000-1200 refractor) so I am reliant on your classified section- I understand the 50 posts stipulation but for the life of me I can't think of 50 questions to ask! Im not much of an internet guy so sadly I can't foresee me posting 50 posts for a long time! Is there any other proof I can use to demonstrate I'm an enthusiast and not a 'dodgy dealer'? Tris

    Classifieds

Hi, I'm looking at getting back into astronomy so I need a scope but I can't seem to access the classified section. Any help?
  8. This is the scope I am looking for but how did you get it so cheap??? Every time I look for one now they are more like £600! Any suggestions on where to buy one? I would consider second hand. Thanks!
  9. Meant to mention- my telescope is a Skyliner-250PX 10"
  10. Hi, Really could do with some advise, I have recently bought a 10" dobs and it came with a 10mm and a 20mm plossel. I have been trying to observe saturn and find although with my meade barlow lens and the wide angle 20mm its very clear, the planet is too small to make out much detail. I have been looking at the Meade 5000 ultra wide angle lens, but which one? 6.7mm or 18mm. Any thoughts?
