  4. Nice mate, I’ll see if I can figure it out to have a look. thanks
  5. Thank you Sunshine, I’m excited to explore the heavens again. Look forward to sharing with you all.
  6. @Dave scutt agreed mate, I see you have the same dob as me by your pic. My last scope lacked the aperture I wanted for this task. Do you have any observation reports on your profile I can read?
  7. Aperture is going to open up more of the sky for you, With you saying going the park isn’t essential I’m guessing you have a garden? or somewhere at your property for use. haha @cajen2 yes don’t go on the tube with a big dob! @Dr1_veR this will be more down to your personal preference. is travelling about important to you as you said it’s not essential? or would you like to see more from your garden and maybe travel about when you eventually get a car?
  8. Hi Graham, astrophotography would go way beyond your budget as @bomberbaz suggested. I have a similar set up to what’s recommended above and personally I’m very happy taking pictures using a phone adapter as it’s purely for my own pleasure and I have done this on a 130p dob in the past and enjoyed it. I see bomberbaz has now recommended the 150p heritage, I had the 130p version which is what I was talking about above. After a while, I wished I went for a higher aperture which is why I now own the Sky-Watcher skyliner 250p. Again I will be taking pictures with a phone adapter and my iPhone 12 with nightcap app. You say that going to the park is not essential? My advice is get the biggest dob you can, a phone adapter and have fun. Nathan
  9. Hi Dave, thanks mate. Cant wait to get it out, when I was last a member I was using a 130p which was not meeting my needs. looking forward to star hopping for DSO’s.
  10. Thanks Floater, I plan too once the weather permits… according to accuweather I won’t be able to get the scope out until 27th/28th 😔 always the way when you get a new scope isn’t it 🙃
  11. Hello mate, nice to meet ya

  14. Thank you, appreciate the warm welcome.
  15. Hi everyone, I was previously a member on here a couple of years ago, I no longer have access to that account but I done a couple of observation reports etc. Due to personal circumstances I had a break from astronomy but I couldn’t stay away. Just purchased myself a new dob (Skywatcher Skyliner 250p) and In typical fashion not a clear sky in sight for around a week 😂. I look forward to reading all your reports and viewing your astrophotography, Regards, Nathan
