Demon Barber 901 Posted December 10, 2010 After fitting socket which is araldited as well as backnut you have to grind a large flat on top of socket body to get clearance and attach wire`s on top of circuitboard,a right fiddly job! Link to comment
philj 2,185 Posted December 13, 2010 Mike, your mod has shamed me into tidying mine up a bit so I bought a Din plug & socket like yours Ill be fitting it shortly, thanks for the great idea.Phil Link to comment
Demon Barber 901 Posted December 13, 2010 Phil i have added a spring to the cable to help support weight, backnut has also got to have a section removed to be able to fit in case, will post more details if it will help you,Miike Link to comment
philj 2,185 Posted December 15, 2010 Cheers Mike. Ive just finished mine. It's a bit of a squeeze but I got it sorted, looks much more professional, thanks for the idea. I araldited my chassis plug in place as there just wasnt the room for the nut also the electronics shop only had 4 pole connectors in minimum so I used one of those. That meant I couldnt take as much meat off the chassis plug back for the circuit board clearance. Managed it in the end though. Thanks againPhil Link to comment
