spaceboy 1,586 Posted November 12, 2010 Bet you get some good solar views with that 8" filter Peter. Bet you make sure you got your steel toe caps on also with that counter weight waiting to give you a whole lot a pain Link to comment
PeterN 0 Posted November 13, 2010 Views are great thanks. There is an end stop on that but it is just inside the counter weight. I found that one weight is just right if at the very end of the shaft. I think I may be better with two further up which would stop flexing.I have also just made a third mass of a standard counter weight which screws in the end stop thread so I may give that a go.Peter Link to comment
spaceboy 1,586 Posted November 15, 2010 Hi PeterDo they not do an extension rod for the EQ-6?I bet the views are great! I only use the little removable cap on mine 2" but I have read that it is recommended to use the full aperture for best results. Just worries me as thats a lot of surface thats got to be pinhole free.Nick Link to comment
PeterN 0 Posted November 16, 2010 Hi Nick,It worries me to. Every time I use it I check it very carefully then it's packed away in its box after use. There is an extension bar for the EQ6 but the one I looked at screws on the end and the whole thing becomes very "flexable" I have seen a complete replacement bar but that was around £90. I don't think I can justify nearly half the price of a Tal 100RS when I can add a second weight. !!!!Peter Link to comment
