luna_20017_04_02.png
Lunar image based on 30 x 1/200 secs. D5000 Nikon DSLR with 2" adaptor, Skywatcher Neodymium Light Pollution filter and C8-N.
Stacked with Python's openCV ECC alignment and a home-grown Python program.
There was quite a lot of sensor noise in the original photos at high magnification which has totally disappeared after stacking, however all the craters have a slight echo, which is also in the original photos (all 30 of them), so what caused this? Is there maybe a wobble from the mirror opening and closing? I'll check the tightness of all the camera attachments very carefully next time and make sure the focus is fully locked down.
