Supernova SN 2014J anno

APS enlargement from my image of two galaxies M81 and M82. Supernova seems to have roughly the same visual magnitude as foreground star GSC 4683 1106
(Mag 11.82). If this is correct, then the absolute magnitude would be -15.9 or put another way a luminance - 203 million times that of the Sun. (Subject to the accuracy of an online magnitude calculator)
