Our 1st CSP was held in May 2010. It all happened through a post on SGL by myself as I was having problems with my little SW 130p. It pretty much read help needed, in return we could camp in my fields and view my sky. The response was great, the party was held with about 7 of us. The weather gods were ever so kind and gave us 2 clear nights, we all enjoyed it so much. I learnt to take the cap off my telescope, how embarrassing :eek: :cool: .
Since then as soon as I get a little PM with "are we having another any time soon" a new thread is born and the next CSP duly arrives. We have had 3 CSP's now each one has grown in numbers, we were a group of 18 at CSP3, No 4 was organised during this one.
CSP 4 will, if the weather gods are kind again, be great. The Milky Way will be stunning. November seems so far away, but hopefully it will be here soon. Thankyou to everyone who has made it to a CSP, I have learned so much while attending these, I would never have dreamed that my initial post would have made me so many new friends.
If you would like to attend CSP 4 you are more than welcome just PM me. I will start a new thread end of October. I think the other threads are still available by typing in Cumbria Star Party - have a little look and see what you think.
