Thought I would have another go at some Lunar over the last couple of days and it has been hit and miss but last night I managed to catch the Lunar X between the clouds. In the end the clouds won out so I didn't get as much time as I would of liked.

I'm finding Lunar to be very temperamental, some nights it just doesn't pull off. I guess there is something to take from that which applies to Solar too.

Anyhoo, I took these with the 150PL and ZWOasi120mm.

They've come out well, Jarrod. What kind of sharpening did you use, may I ask?

Ages since I did some higher res lunar but my way some nights there's little point using the 8 inch SCT over my 120mm frac. I think skies our way just aren't that steady, on hols one day the solar seeing was soooo steady, grass everywhere instead of rooftops. Though one day it was pants too.

Cheers Luke!

I was surprised considering the conditions and the previous nights failure. Like you say the bigger aperture is a lot less forgiving under rough skies.

For sharpening I just use Smart Sharpen to taste and then apply a small touch of noise reduction. That's about it aside from contrast et al.

I'm running one through AI3.0 now to see what that comes out with.
