I'm glad my pictures have made you want to give it a try.  The reason for the #8 yellow filter is because I'm shooting through an achromatic refractor and was experimenting with reducing chromatic aberration.  The yellow filter seems to have helped with the added benefit of enhancing a little detail.  I have a Baader Semi APO filter coming this week and look forward to taking some images with it installed.  I understand that it's supposed to produce a truer color.  It'll be interesting to see the comparison.

i have a messier ar127l and i get a good bit of chromatic aberration i get rid of it usally with photo shop but sometimes its so bad i just leave or turn it into b&w, i will get myself a 8 yellow and give it a try.all the best,charl.
