TONIGHT

Lickey Hills - 11th March 2011

Come and join Birmingham Astronomical Society for our biannual SkyWatch on Friday 11th March 2011 at 7.30 pm at the Lickey Hills Visitor Centre. We hope to turn telescopes onto a quarter Moon, and the constellations, weather permitting. There will be talks and demonstrations indoors and a planetarium.SJW.gif

The visitor centre is on Warren Lane, off the B4096, Old Birmingham Road.

Telephone 0121 447 7106. Google Map Link.

We will be showing how to set up telescopes with an opportunity to talk with experienced users and get some hands-on practice. There will also be a picture show to celebrate the spaceflight milestones of Gagarin (1961), the space shuttle program (1981), and Helen Sharman (1991).

Good news, there is an other event in a few months time and the licky hills again.

I will give more notice next time. We had a great turnout, with about 150-200 people.

The planetarium was fully booked on all 4 showings.

If you did go to the event let me know what you enjoyed the most.

The events are on the Club Website Birmingham Astronomical Society |

The Club meet every Wednesday at 7:15pm at Aston University inside the main entrance.

P.S. Play the games on the web sitefor a bit of fun. I designed the site and games so if any needs and help with websites let me know.
