meade ETX70AT connector

hey guys

well you know iv got a ETX70 havent used it much since i got my dob but im thinkin i might use it for widefield imaging (i no its got wrong kind of motor but untill i get my eq2 working it better than nothin)

i found a meade 506 cable connector kit

if any one uses this how can i connect it to my laptop would i use a serial to usb? also can i use it to update my handbox?
