Tripod help

Hi all, complete novice here. I've bought a Meade etx125ec second-hand and now need a tripod. Question: would a tripod supposedly for a Celestron Nexstar 130 SLT fit or be any use? (there's one going fairly cheap at the moment|) Thanks in advance and this may be my first post but it won't be my last.........

I doubt it, the SLT tripod incorporates the base of the goto mount which would be different to the Meade mount.

Hi Nikko, Welcome to SGL.

Unfortunately astronomical tripods head are not standardised, often the tripod from the same manufacturer but different product lines will not fit each other.

The only exception is the Vixen GPs, its clones and HEQ5, but that's it.
