Transporting a scope

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I will be attending a learn your telescope workshop in a weeks time and was wondering what the best way would be to transport my scope in the car? It s a Skywatcher skyhawk 114 on a EQ 1 mount. Thanks for any advice you can give :icon_eek:

I always put my scope (12" flextube) in the boot, with other gear positioned to stop it rolling. I don't bother covering it - after a night's observing it's usually soaking wet. It slipped once when I was lifting it out and I put a little dent in the side of the tube, but that's the only harm that has ever come to it from all its journeys. A smaller scope would have been undamaged but the 12" is quite heavy.
