Which Telescope.

Hi

Been interested in Astromony for ages.

Now thinking of getting a telescope.

I would like one that is not to bulky and with a GOTO mount.

What would the best one to get under £500?

Any advise welcome.

Based on your post I'd suggest a Skywatcher Skymax 127 Synscan AZ Goto.

Gives you nearly £150 for a some accessories.

I second the opinion on the Max 127.

Not too bulky = Cassegrain.

GOTO mount = Skywatcher Alt Az.

It will give you lovely high contrast views of planets, the moon and let you split double stars etc.

You'll need a power source to go with it (like a Maplin battery & a 12v cable) as well.

Also look second hand for a couple of good quality widefield eyepieces or go for the Revelation PhotoVisual eyepiece set (or the Celestron version).

All under budget
