Webcam questions

Recommended Posts

Got my self a philips 880 webcam, which has been flashed into a 900 (thanks for whoever wrote that post - made it simple!) and one of Wayne's adaptors. Just waiting for the high altitude cirrus to dissapear now before I can see anything and check it all works! Typical!

what sort of magnification would I expect to see with the webcam - i.e what size of eyepiece is it 'equivalent' to? And if I want to change the magnification optically (i.e not cropping the digital image) how do you do that? I'm guessing a barlow is the only way to do it?

Wow - thats some serious magnification! how do I 'demagnify' it slightly? - I'd like to get the whole moon in the frame so it can be viewed on the laptop screen by the kids- I'm guessing some sort of 'inverse' barlow lens?
