If you are purely visual or basic webcam imaging then I think you will find the Dobsonian quicker to setup and easier to use. The extra two inches of mirror will make a difference in light grasp as well.

Yes - and the basic EQ5 isn't good enough for photography anyway.

If you decide later that you wished you had an equatorial mount, you can just go and buy one and mount the scope on it. With the good quality EQ mounts you don't make any great savings by buying them at the same time as the scope.
