Focuser has become incredibly stiff.

Dear all,

the stock focuser on my Celestron C80ED has started to become very stiff.

I know the scope is reknowned for having a poor quality focuser but it's started getting to the point where I can't turn it with my fingertips alone and last night I even had to resort to using both hands to get it to budge. I've read a number of comments online about how it can be improved by being cleaned and relubricated and I'm happy to have a go but I can't find any information on how to go about it.

If any of you know what I should do or know of a guide somewhere I would be delighted to hear from you.
