SW MN190 and 80ED PRO DS...

Recommended Posts

I should be receiving an SW 80ED Pro DS tomorrow. I reckon it will complement my MN190 really nicely - a 1000/5.3 and a 600/7.5.

The plan is to ride them both on my EQ6, use the 80ED for visual and let the MN190 be the dedicated astrograph its supposed to be. However, if an object demands a broader viewing area, it will be good to have a scope that can accommodate that if necessary, especially since the next step is a 314L+, the chip of which is tiny compared to the Nikon D3 I've been using so far.

I'll post photos of the setup first chance I get.

No question, just posting cos I'm excited.

I received the 80ED, and although I've not had a clear night yet, I was instantly impressed both with the scope and with the 28mm 2" eyepiece and diagonal with it. I'd never seen 2" components before - until now I've been using adapters and 1.25" Plossls.

I can't wait for a clear night, now. There hasn't been one in weeks. :-(
