Sir Martin Rees lecture

In this outpost of the Empire I can't always get radio 4 on the computer but today I had the pleasure of listening to Sir Martin Rees in speculative mood on the Beeb. Apposite to one of our recent threads on this part of SGL, he said that humans were special and were distiguished by self awareness and language. (I do think language is a vast topic in regard to the models of the universe that we create in our scientific endeavours.) However, he seemed open minded as regards the directions that computer technology might take.

Odd that he didn't join in the thread. Maybe he was busy, eh???

Anyway, don't miss the last lecture next week.
