Solar Activity 24 May

Sorry for late posting. Unavoidable social events...

Weather has reverted to cool northerly airstream, which means cloudy mornings here. The Sun broke through in mid afternoon.

Overviews:

1348 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus, DMK41

1355 UT. Solarscope 60, 0.5x focal reducer, DMK41

Main activity is of course AR 11072 in the south & now slightly west of the meridian:

1412 UT. Solarscope 60, x4 Imagemate, DMK21

1447 UT. WO FLT 110, Lunt solar wedge, x4 Imagemate, DMK21

1435 UT. WO FLT 110, Lunt B1200 CaK diagonal, x4 Imagemate, DMK21

The suspected activity in the north east is obviously decaying

There is also an interesting plage near the south west limb which is visible as a small patch of faculae in white light. High resolution imaging reveals a few pores embedded in it:

The large bright prominence on the north west limb still persists, though it has grown less tall:

There is also an interesting prominence on the NNW limb

and another, much fainter, on the ENE limb:

Transparency very good but some interference from wavy mid-level cloud towards the end of the session. Seeing steadier than usual but far from perfect! Temperature 16C, wind NE force 3-4.
