Transparency better today (intermittently) but seeing bad.

CaK whole disk shot shows a fairly quiet Sun

Sun-100410-0923-CaK.jpg

0923 UT. PST CaK @ f/10, DMK41

though close inspection shows AR 1061, very close to the limb, still bearing a tiny spot. I show the CaK view as the white light image was not so clear (in fact I couldn't see the spot at all at the eyepiece!)

1211 UT. Lunt 60 / CaK B1200, x2 barlow, DMK21

In Ha, the north of the disc (large image) shows a notable filament near the meridian in the northern hemisphere, and a small plage & filaments corresponding to the defunct AR 1060

Sun-100410-1153-Ha-AR1060-X2.jpg

1153 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow, DMK21

but the highlight is the huge quiescent filament near the north west limb

Sun-100410-1151-Ha-filaNW-X2.jpg

1151 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow, DMK21

There is a complex prominence group at the south south west limb

Sun-100410-1155-Ha-promSSW-X2.jpg

1155 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow, DMK21

and a medium sized, bright, complex prominence on the north north east limb

Sun-100410-1159-Ha-promNNE-X2.jpg

1159 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow, DMK21

Transparency moderate but with interference from cirro/altocumulus. Seeing poor, deteriorating to bad. Temp 15C, wind SW force 4-5.
