Heavy Duty but Portable Mount?

Does anyone have any comments on mounts which will carry a heavier load than an EQ6 but are still portable/luggable to some extent? Thinking of Losmandy G11 / Vixen Atlux. Do not need GOTO.

Brian, having owned both EQ6 and now Atlux I would say the Atlux is heavier but just luggable for a short distance and no steps.

Just checked the Atlux is 3.7Kg heavier at 19.7Kg just for the mount head!

Is this for guided imaging Brian? I am wondering about tracking accuracy needed and ease of polar alignment.

No. But it is going to have to stand up to high resolution (solar) imaging loaded with a FLT 110 tube (7.5 Kg) with the added impediment of a heavy etalon stuck on the front. The HEQ5 is not really adequate even without the etalon. My site is distinctly breezy!

Ease of alignment, the Celestron CGEM would be first choice by a country mile. As it is, I'm not convinced it's good enough at damping vibrations.
