Skywatcher EQ3 Mount Worm gear stuck to RA clutch problem

Recommended Posts

Did anyone encounter the problem of SkyWacher EQ3 (Any EQ3) RA axis Worm gear stuck with the Locking clutch? This is happening for both 40/60 teeth pulleys. How to fix this problem?

Can you move the pulley and stepper to the opposite side? I had the same problem with EQ5 when I was modifying it to OnStep. Remember about inverting direction in this axis, if the operation is possible.

Yeah, I can. The opposite side is totally free. But it will go all the way down back. And what about the configuration?

I assume you had a plan or at least an idea what you were going to do, so do it, but in opposite direction. If you plan to use the OnStep, there are fields to set the direction. Without further details nobody can help.

Yeah, I think I should try this reverse technique.  Thanks for the idea.

It would be easier to enlarge the chamfer on the lever's head with a file.

Michael
