HELP - Nextstar GPS problem

I've been investigating further. I was going to enter the coordinates of my garden and the date and time to find that the coordinates were accurately there. They have never been entered manually so the GPS must have been working previously. With the GPS turned off the scope will accept the current time but as soon as the GPS is turned on it defaults back to 00:00:00 and the date to 01:01:01 so I am wondering if there is a battery somewhere in the system, apart from the external source, that may have dislodged or gone flat.

Does anyone know if that is the case and where to access it?
