Recommended Posts

Hello Good People of the Stargazers Lounge in 2021.

Just ordered the SVBONY SV305 that some of you have already to photograph the Moon and nearby Planets like Jupiter in North America Canada from my residential location.

Camera will mount to a Mead 10 inch Schmidt Cassegran on an LX80 Tripod.

Captured images and Video output will be processed on a Win10 Dell G5 Intel 7 9th Gen Laptop with an NVIDIA 2070 RTX 8GB Card with 16MB of Fast RAM.

Looking forward to your valuable experience and time saving tips that assisted you to take great shots of the nearby cosmos that we all love to capture and share.

Stay well and happy in your hobby.

Reece from North America Ontario Canada.

I've used the SV305 to good advantage, especially for Moon, Jupiter and Saturn images.  It also does a reasonable job with bright nebulae such as M42.  Alas, I use it primarily as a guide-scope camera now, where it does an exceptional job.

I don't know what you plan to use for imaging software, (as I run Linux), but if you get stuck finding a driver, AstroDMx_Capture does a good job running the camera with its native drivers.  The windows version of the AstroDMx_Capture works just like the Linux version.  Easy to use and uncomplicated.  There is, of course, a Windows ASCOM driver for the camera now, so all the doors are open.
