Telescope configuration

I received a Bressler 70/350MM GOTO Automatic Tracking Telescope. I have went through the the instructions to assemble and set the configurations (i.e. date/time, time zone, daylight savings). I have two big questions:

1. I have created a custom site (I got the GPS coordinates for my home). The Country/City settings do not have anything near me. Do the Country/City settings take precedence and override the the customer site? For example, when I selected the telescope to view them moon, it pointed almost total opposite to where I saw it in the sky.

2. When aligning the telescope, how long does the synchronization take?  I chose a target sync (after a 2 start sync) and the display was reading synchronization in progress for almost 30 minutes and continues.

 

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Most likely you have an error in the configs, here's what the data format should look like:

I have that data in the unit displayed for my area (Apple Valley, Minnesota) with the correct date and time zone (See Home Settings.jpg).

 

The Setting.jpg picture shows what s in my last configuration screen. I'm trying to determine what settings I need adjust.

 

Any assistance or suggestion would be appreciated.

That looks good, 

Time Zone W06, and DST Off ?

And the stuff you've probably already done:

Initial setup position is vague.

But the instructions say enter Azi = 000, and Alt = 00,

So that suggests have the optical tube pointing true north, and the optical tube horizontal (with the tripod as level as possible).

Then carry out the Star Alignment.
