Pretty Double With Mars

Got the long 127 frac out of the shed at 4.30pm, not expecting to see much 'cos of cloud.  Mars was high, SE, so I got him in the EP at x33 / 2.16deg, and was delighted to see below Mars (same FOV) two bright eyes looking back at me - Revati (86 Psc), a quintuple (visual triple, with very faint third component).  The eyes were well matched (5th and 6th mag), and 23" apart.  At that mag, they looked very close.  Lovely.

It was a battle with clouds, but I then went for Sadr in Cygnus.  The region is like a huge cluster.  Same FOV as Sadr - open cluster NGC 6910, a few bright stars and several fainter ones.  Very pretty.  Going up to x60 / 1.67deg with the 20mm 100deg Myriad, the contrast improved to reveal  a nice, even chain of fainter stars running through the cluster.

Nothing Earth-shaking, but still very pleasing.  And something of a victory over the clouds - you've gotta take advantage of windows of viewing!

Doug.
