Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ6 Pro balancing in Alt-Az mode?

Afternoon everyone

Can you please advise me how to balance the scope in Alt-Az?

I am pairing the scope with a C11. The mount's home position is with the counterweight shaft parallel to the ground. Balancing the OTA (DEC axis) is pretty self explanatory, and took some sliding of the dovetail in the saddle to balance it.

However, balancing the whole OTA on one side of the mount with the counterweights on the other side is the part I do not get? How should I know that the balance is alright, since there is no movement in that axis?

Thanks

Although I've owned an AZ-EQ6 for a year and a half I've have to admit that I never have tried the Alt-Az feature...

This is what the manual has to say:

"It may be more difficult to balance the R.A. (or Azimuth) axis in Alt-azimuth mode. Here are

the balancing steps recommended for Alt-azimuth mode:

» Balance the payload and counterweights in equatorial mode and mark the position of the

counterweights.

» Unload the payload and counterweights to set the mount in Alt-Azimuth mode.

» Re-load the mount again by installing the counterweight at the marked position

Thank you.

I've done that, and maked the CW shaft with electric tape, one for the ED80mm scope which needed just one CW, and another for the SCT OTA, which is much heavier, and needed both the CWs
