Jupiter from Bangkok - first and second efforts.

Hi all,

Thought I'd post my first and second efforts of Jupiter from our light-polluted skies in the 'burbs of Bangkok. Obviously I managed to find the "Gain" control between the two images! :D

Quite chuffed with the second one as it's my first scope and only a week old. Needless to say I seem to have got the bug so am starting on that long, steep learning curve... Jupiter was already down to around 15deg at the time so well and truly amongst the muck over the city.

Both taken with a NexImage cam through an 8SE using AmCap and Registax - uncropped.

What do I need to do to get rid of the horizontal lines from the cam? Just turn the gain down in capture/post-processing, or do I need to start thinking about things like dark and flat frames? Thanks all! Of course now I wish I'd also picked up a T-ring and adaptor for the 20D...sigh...I can tell this hobby is going to cost me...

Nick
