Probably a very obvious tip or other beginners like me regarding navigating and Stellarium.

Hi all,

This is probably super obvious, but i hadn't really thought about it till last nights viewing session. If you are star hopping using Stellarium (on night mode of course), i found the going much easier if i looked through my viewfinder, made a note of what the dimmest stars i could see through were, then adjusted the minimum magnitude of stars showing on Stellarium in the "viewing options" to match. That way there is less confusion as you consult the screen for the route you need to take. Obviously, i am talking about the view you can see in whatever viewfinder you use, not the eyepiece.

Simple, obvious trick, but it helped a lot, especially when looking in the direction of the Milky Way where its very busy.  😁

Cheers guys.
