M33 + 64P/Swift-Gehrels

Recommended Posts

Getting back into astrophotography after a break of several years; first proper session with my new kit last Friday (30/11) and accidentally imaged 64P/Swift-Gehrels so thought I'd share as it's interesting to see it to scale and in context with other objects. Had intended to just image M33 and see which neighbouring faints galaxies I could detect and was very confused as to what I'd picked up at the time!

This is about 45 minutes of data using William Optics Star 71 & Nikon D750 on an AZ EQ5 GT. Location Kingston SW London. Just a rough process as it's not much data, think I've killed the background trying to remove light pollution gradients. Tried stacking with DSS in comet mode but I guess it's too small in the frame to be recognised.
