M31 Lum

The other half of my evening last night.

FSQ 106, .6x reducer and ASI 1600 with Astrodon luminance filter

Lum: 120 30 sec subs.

I know there is a bit of a background issue--my DBE issue has returned (hard drive is quite full).  I will correct this in the final image.  This was a quick process. I usually overdo my stand alone, so I will leave it alone until I have the full data set.

Not really. It's just that this is so seldomly done in B&W, that you caught us off guard. Very nice image. I noticed that in the full resolution image, you not only reduced noise, but also reprocessed the core to get more detail. ?

Will you add colour, or leave it as a study in monochrome?

Thanks Wim. I have since captured the Red, and Green.  I plan on doing an HaLRGB.  I hope to obtain the data before the Moon returns, but the weather has been abominable.
