Which ascom for use with autoguider ??

Am I right in thinking that with the HEQ5 Pro/PHD and QH5Y, the ascom needs to be the Celestron Nexstar 8i ?? I ask cos I was wondering about using EQMOD too for the planetarium s/ware and whether they'd be any conflicts if they were used at the same time.

EQMOD allows multiple software packages to connect to it at the same time... just tell everything to use it

In Eqmod you select EQMOD ASCOM EQ5/6 and in Phd you select On Camera under mount iirc

Just to confirm- if I decide to go with the EQMOD , use it for everything.

IF I decide to go without- still use it or stick with the former Nxtr 8i
