Starlight xpress Ultrastar C

Can some one point me in the right direction. I have just started out using my Starlight xpress Ultrastar C camera and after a few attempts and plenty of advice from the forum have started to get some what I think half decent images. M57 was straight forward and I was really happy how easy I found the process, so with my new confidence running high I slewed across to Andromeda to see that my new found confidence back to square one. I have since heard that imaging Andromeda is not so easy. Your trusted views and comments much welcome.

To me focus seems to be way out in M31 image?

silly question but is it necessary to re focus every time you view a new target.
