Or are you running on the AA batteries? (I forgot that celestron supply an AA battery cage)

If this the cable that has gone, then I have no idea. It is not recommended to run on AA batteries (1) they dont last long (2) they supply an uneven current especially in the cold and this can cause the scopes to "act up"

Your best bet is to buy a proper battey pack & new cable. These can be used on future scopes you may own as well. Depends how much you want to spend?

The 17Ah battery pack will last you a few years and it has a useful red light on it + other power outputs (thats the one I would go for)

these have a cable in the box like this (12v light adapter lead)

 

which accepts the cigarette connector end of the celeston or lynx power cable.

Lithium is more expensive but lasts longer (1400 charge cycles) and can't be over charged but depends how much you want to spend.
