EQ-6 Upgrade

Hi everyone.

I have previously asked about upgrades for an EQ-6 which is stock, i.e. non-GOTO. 

I'm not keen on spending £300+ on an upgrade kit but notice on eBay there is a company selling a motherboard for an EQ-6 pro for £105 and the EQ6 pro stepper motors are available for £59 each elsewhere. Am I right in thinking if I bought these I would only be short of a Synscan hand controller to complete the upgrade? Given I wanted to control via my laptop anyway I guess this is no big deal?

I would suggest to look for a belt upgrade. Sound became like R2-D2. 120 pounds more worth the result.
