Stub Mandrel
As last night was clear I had to have a go at some imaging. Despite the moon, it was almost a 'dark sky site' as the streetlights are all switched off waiting to be 'ledded' Rather than try and be clever I set up on Andromeda and set the camera to take 3 1/2 hours of images and the alarm for 2:00. I lost the last 40-odd to cloud. But the drift in each frame was awful and all my stars are streaks. Something very wrong happened to my polar alignment and I think it was fault in my software displaying the position mirror image. <gutted>
Stub Mandrel
Pah! Watched the polar finder display all day and it behaved properly except consistently about 8 hours out. Flash of inspiration - I checked the date and the box thought it was mid-January. GOK how it changed itself. This was the result, three and half hours of subs wasted <weep>
wimvb
Hitting the "Like this" button just doesn't seem right. But I do share the feeling. I hope you can redo this with less moonlight and leds not yet in place.
