Welcome to SGL!

You picked the right place to ask for assistance - and a great first 'scope! At 600(ish) mm focal length/f2.2 you should be able to capture dso's relatively easily.  Weight is always a problem when you're working 'mobile' and so is power.  It took me a while to get properly organised with a high capacity portable power source but even so, I still don't do very much imaging!  Just too pleased to get good views under English skies!
