Point and shoot the moon

Recommended Posts

Finished work and stepped out into the light of the full moon. With a large cloud bank moving in, I rushed home, quickly set the telescope up on the lawn and clamped the camera to the eyepiece.

The only adjustments I've made to the image is to flip it so that it's the right way up and to crop some of the background.

Setup is as follows:

Telescope: Celestron Astromaster 130EQ (with after-market mods including right ascension motor unit and Telrad finderscope)
Eyepiece: 25mm Celestron X-Cel
Filter: Baader neutral density moon filter
Camera: Olympus C-220 Zoom
Camera mount: Baader Clickstop camera mount
