You live the same distance from Oklahoma City to the northwest as I do from another large city to the south.  Ideally, we should both be living 20 miles away from a large city located to the east, since everything rises in the east and sets in the west.  If we go by this map, not a chance...

Judging from that one, and especially the other, the best bet is to head west.  This organisation located nearby in Oklahoma City should be most helpful in finding the best and safest dark-sky sites in your area...
