Attaching a TeleVue TRF-2008 to 2.5" Feathertouch focuser

Hi All,

I am thinking of buying a Feathertouch focuser (FTF2535HD) to use with a heavy imaging rig (ca2.5kg). The focuser draw tube has a brass compression ring with three thumb screws. I would like to attach my reducer, a TRF-2008, using its female thread to the draw tube and to my filter wheel by the male thread. The filter wheel and camera side is all sorted.

Featherlight can supply a draw tube with an M63x1 male thread, which at 63mm diameter is too big to go into the TRF

which has an outside diameter of around 50.7mm. Featherlight can also supply a draw tube end cap with female M68x1mm thread.

Has anyone managed to screw a TRF-2008 onto this focuser?

Am I worrying about this too much, maybe the compression ring system is rigid enough. Does anyone have experience of this?
