My first astronomy purchase from Sherwoods in Warwickshire, 2nd hand Hilkinsons Dartmouth for £75. Looked identical to the Ostara Elinor / Strathspey but without the twist eyecups. If Opticron Imagic TGA WP or Helios Apollo were on display I would have been very tempted but I'm going to wait and see if my interest in the hobby grows before spending £150+ (don't think there is any danger of that not happening :) )

Thanks to everyone posting on this forum for their advice. I wouldn't have had a clue where to start with all the choice available if it wasn't for everything I've learned on this forum.
