A dog with two tails...

The Warthog

I have decided to put a 6x30 finder on my scope, as well as the red-dot finder I am using now. The reason for this is that while the red dot is brilliant for finding things I can see, it doesn't cut through the haze to get me to clusters that are impossible to see naked-eye, and not near any bright objects. In fact, when looking for dim but visible objects, the glass in the red dot finder often obscures these objects.

I know other people have done this. Where is the best place to put the second finder? My red-dot is on the right side of the focuser. If I put the new finder on the left side, it will interfere with the focuser, and on the right of the red-dot it will be a reach to see through it.

What works for you?

For now, I have stuck it, with double sided tape, just behind and to the right of the red-dot finder. I've experimented with looking trhough both finders, and it seems to work. If I like it, I'll drill a couple of holes, and screw it down. Or up, depending on my hole drilling ability.
