Found another Mars......

In just 2 months I have filled to capacity the HDD in my laptop which is reserved for astro guff. So whilst clearing out 11mb CR2's, 2gb avi's etc, I thought I might post anything 'new' which I have missed.

This one was taken via neximage and a Tal X2 barlow on the 4th March. I was pleased to see a bit of detail in the middle of the disc, as per Stellarium's view for that night.

Just wish I knew how to process the stacked pic to get the best from it. I dont think I can get any sharper image from the equipment? Or can I?

Here is the process I use.

RAW avi > K3CCD > stacked image+post processing > Registax RGB Align > Finishing in PS (enlarge, enhance, reduce)

Is there a way to bypass the rgb align in registax? That gets rid of the red/blue coloured edges?

Anyways, here's the pic;

CW, are you going to Kelling?

I need to plug you into my brain transference machine and siphon off your processing abilities.

Have no fear, the void will be filled with useful stuff from my own brain, like, erm, hmmmmm........

Cheers
