light from Jupiter and Saturn

Hi all, a little confused by this but why does the light ftom Jupiter take longer to get to Earth than Saturn?

Just been reading that it takes about 43 minutes from jupiter which is larger and closer than Saturn which light takes just under 10 minutes.

Any light on this is appreciated

May I ask where you read that? Light from Saturn takes more than 70 minutes to reach us with todays position of the planet.

Saturn was in opposition 10th may : 74 lightminutes away from us.( 8.9 AU)

I googled it and looked at many of the options and all said the same.

obviously the distance of orbit comes into it but surely not on the scale that Jupiter's light takes longer??

Just googled it again and got some completely different results, thought it a bit strange! !

I like using WolframAlpha for these kind of things 

Distance from Earth to Jupiter goes from about 4.2 AU to as far as about 6.26 AU.

Distance from Earth to Saturn goes from about 8.9 AU to as far as almost 11 AU.
